Ground-breaking urban development with revitalisation programme
The City of Nuremberg is taking advantage of vacant sites to set the course for future decades of ground-breaking urban development and economic progress:
The construction of the new University of Technology Nuremberg UTN, at the heart of a new district being built on the site of the former southern railway station, the redevelopment of the building that previously housed the city-centre Kaufhof department store or the conversion of the giant listed dispatch center of the former mail-order company Quelle into a mixed-use urban quarter: they are symbolic of Nuremberg’s transformation, with the focus on revitalisation and progress.
With huge levels of investment in Nuremberg’s knowledge infrastructure, supported by the Free State of Bavaria with more than 1.5 billion euros, and comprehensive options for upgrading and branding the city centre, mega-topics have been set that raise Nuremberg to an even more dynamic level. Together with its strong expertise in important key technologies and its positive demographic development, this is generating significant momentum from which the city of half a million people benefits also as a real estate and investment location in the long term.
