Berufsbezogenes Praktikum in Glasgow 2018

Vom 19. Mai bis zum 2. Juni 2018 leisteten zehn Schülerinnen der Modeschulen Nürnberg das berufsbezogene Praktikum am Glasgow Kelvin College ab.

Sie bereiteten die Modenschau Mackintosh zur Feier des 10-jährigen Bestehens der Partnerschaft zum Glasgow Kelvin College vor. Bei der Präsentation der Modenschau waren die Schirmherrinnen Frau Petra Maly und Lord Provost Councillor Eva Bolander anwesend sowie Schulleiterin Gisela Schlenk und lobten die wunderschöne Show im Kelvingrove Museum. Dort findet derzeit eine Werkschau des Schaffens von Charles Rennie Mackintosh und der Glasgow Four statt, die das Mackintosh Jubiläumsjahr eröffnet.

Die Modenschau wurde gemeinsam choreografiert und präsentiert mit den Schüler/-innen des Glasgow Kelvin College, was zu einem regen Austausch zwischen schottischen und fränkischen Schüler/-innen führte. Zurück im College feierten sie gemeinsam ihren Erfolg und erlernten die Techniken des boning, um Korsetts zu gestalten.

Mit von der Partie waren Frau Denker, Berufsbereichsbetreuerin der B5 Modeschulen Nürnberg, und Frau Plewinski, Amt für Internationale Beziehungen, die Gespräche führten, wie die Partnerschaft in Glasgow weitergeführt werden kann, wenn der Brexit 2019 vollzogen wird.

Die besonderen Highlights dieser Praktika waren neben der Modenschau sicherlich der Workshop im House for an Art Lover bei Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw, wo mit Gesso und Stencils eigene von Mackintosh inspirierte Kreationen geschaffen wurden, das schottische Tanzfest Ceilidh und der Empfang im Rathaus bei Lord Provost Councillor Eva Bolander.

From May 19 to June 2 2018, ten students from the Modeschulen Nürnberg completed their internship at Glasgow Kelvin College. They prepared the Mackintosh fashion show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Glasgow Kelvin College partnership. The patrons Ms. Petra Maly and Lord Provost Councillor Eva Bolander were at the presentation of the fashion show, as well as the principal Gisela Schlenk who praised the beautiful show in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. There is currently a Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Glasgow Four’s exhibition, which opens the Mackintosh anniversary year.

The fashion show was jointly choreographed and presented by students from Glasgow Kelvin College and Modeschulen Nürnberg, which led to an active exchange between Scottish and Franconian students. Back in college, they celebrated their success together and learned the techniques to make corsets.

Ms. Denker, head of fashion department at B5 Modeschulen Nürnberg, and Ms. Plewinski, Department of International Relations, discussed with the partners and their managing directors how to continue the partnership between the colleges facing Brexit.

Apart from the fashion show, the special highlights of this traineeship were the workshop at the House for an Art Lover with Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw, where Mackintosh-inspired creations were made using gesso and stencils, the Scottish dance festival Ceilidh and the reception at the town hall by Lord Provost Councillor Eva Bolander.
