Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) und RCE-Nuernberg

The main task of the RCEs is education for sustainable development in formal and non-formal educational systems, as well as the exchange of information on an international level.

The path leads to the networking of groups, institutions, and persons from various areas of the sciences dealing with education, the environment, the economy, society, and One World issues. The international exchange is particularly important and RCEs with similar approaches work together closely, exchanging ideas and solutions, and sharing these with all RCEs.

Out of the five German national and 85 worldwide designated RCEs are two Bavarian institutions. BenE-München was founded in 2006 and is committed to establishing a culture of sustainability in Munich.

The RCE Nuremberg was initiated by the Environmental Station H 46 in 2007.
It focuses on the promotion of environmental awareness through energy saving and mobility consciousness and on strengthening social and intercultural cohesion through improving educational qualifications of youths in schools and in vocational education.

The main office is in the Pedagogical Institute and School Psychology of the City of Nuremberg.
