Board of Trustees for Diversity and Cohesion

The Board of Trustees for Diversity and Cohesion is a committee convened by the Lord Mayor of the City of Nuremberg, which in future will also focus on other dimensions of diversity (such as age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion and social situation) in addition to the existing topics of integration and human rights. In a wide-ranging dialogue, the aim is to develop impulses for local politics in order to reflect the diversity dimensions of urban society and strengthen social cohesion.

The Board of Trustees currently has 70 members from organisations and institutions in the following areas: Human rights, women, LGBTIQ, social cohesion and urban society, business and labour, higher education, media, police and justice, supra-regional authorities and levels, municipal councils (Integration Council, Disability Council and Senior Citizens' Council) and the Council of Religions. They are all tasked with advising the city leadership, the City Council and the city administration on social and municipal policy issues that affect social cohesion in a growing, increasingly diverse urban society.

The Board of Trustees meets twice a year in large groups.
