Valuing diversity. Strengthen participation. Shaping the future.

The realisation of an urban society based on solidarity is measured by how it treats all citizens. This also includes those who do not have long and continuous roots in the city or who are looking for a new home as a result of flight and displacement. The more openly a city deals with the diversity of its citizens, the better it will be able to meet the challenges of a globalised context.

The guidelines supplementing the general mission statement of the City of Nuremberg form the basis of the municipal integration policy.
As part of its general mission statement, the City of Nuremberg adopted guidelines on integration policy for the first time in 2004, the current version of which was approved by the City Council on 25 July 2018. These are updated on an ongoing basis, taking social developments into account.

The individual divisions and departments are guided by these guidelines in their work. The topic of ‘integration’ is therefore a cross-sectional task of the administration and is a top priority for Lord Mayor Marcus König.

The aim of the City of Nuremberg is to ensure equal opportunities for all its citizens to participate in all services, programmes and social resources.
