The Commission for Integration, established in 2002, is the responsible specialised committee of the Nuremberg City Council that deals with all issues affecting people with a migration background in Nuremberg.
The Integration Commission deals with resolutions passed by the Nuremberg Council for Integration and Immigration, discusses motions submitted by political parties and presents reports from a wide range of areas of municipal activity. These include, for example, projects in day care centres, schools, youth work, education, extracurricular education, cultural work, housing, economic policy, human resources work and senior citizens' policy.
The commission is also the body responsible for discussing the parts and updates of the municipal integration programme drawn up by the administration, supplementing or amending it accordingly and then submitting it to the City Council for approval.
