Language teaching in child, youth and family services
The language and cultural mediators at the Centre for Active Citizens (ZAB) help families with a migration background, asylum seekers and refugees to communicate with local child and youth welfare institutions. They are fluent in German and at least one other language.
They currently mediate in the following 36 languages: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Aramaic, Assyrian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Dari, English, Farsi, French, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Croatian, Kurdish, Macedonian, Pashto, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Sorani, Slovenian, Spanish, Chechen, Tigrinia, Turkish, Turkmen, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Urdu, Vietnamese, Belarusian.
The Educvation Centre offers you two ways to find language learning partners:
- Analogue via the public notice board in the Nuremberg City Library Centre, Gewerbemuseumsplatz 4, level L1. Simply fill in a form and hand it in at the information desk. Your request will then be displayed for a maximum of three months.
- Online via a simple, free and non-commercial language tandem exchange. You click on the link, enter your mother tongue and the language you would like to speak. Everything else can be found below via the link provided.
The language tandem exchange is a free service of the Education Centre Nürnberg.
Foreign citizens who have a residence permit and are expected to live in Germany permanently can take part in an integration course. Each integration course consists of a language course and an orientation course.
The Goethe-Institut is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. Among other things, it promotes education and supports the teaching and learning of the German language.
